Ellie is a month old now. Her Tante Michaela (Marti’s cousin) got us these stickers that we can put on Ellie and take pictures of, to show her growth month by month.
We were trying to video Ellie being cute and waking up, but as it turned out, she wanted to let one rip instead. Continue reading “Ellie lets one rip [VIDEO]”
Today, Ellie had her one month appointment at the paediatrician, but as she was sitting in the car seat waiting for the doctor to come in, she looked like she was ready to start a fight!
She’s very healthy and well. Her height (22.5in), head circumference (15in) and weight (10lbs) put her in about the 90th percentile for growth, so she’s big and growing nicely.
Height: 22.5in (97th percentile)
Weight: 10 lbs (75th percentile)
Head circumference: 15in (92nd percentile)
Maybe she doesn’t know what a smile is and that’s just what her facial muscles decided to do at that tune, or maybe she really is starting to smile. Either way, we think she’s particularly cute.
Ellie is so special that it warranted a welcome from the President and Michelle.
Yesterday, Marti got a rare treat. For the first time since Ellie was born, she managed to get out of the house without Ellie for an hour. She and I took a trip to the library and to get some more tea from Hooker Tea Company. In her own words:
You know you’re a nerd when your first trip out of the house is to the library!
Ellie just loves taking baths! She never fusses and she just sits there and enjoys getting pampered.
Can anyone guess which team Ellie is going to be strongly encouraged (dictated) to support?
This week, Ellie has been getting more confident with her movement, her head control is getting better, her hair is getting longer and she’s starting to get some breast-fed-fat-rolls.
Ellie has wanted to be a bit closer to us, so instead of just holding her and immobilising myself all day long, I took out her carrier, the Baby K’Tan, and went hands-free. It’s fantastic: she’s close, which we both like and I can get stuff done. Win-win.
