Ellie’s first slip and slide

Mama recently got some inspiration from Pinterest to make Ellie a slip-and-slide using a plastic tablecloth and some shaving cream. Seems reasonable enough.

However, our experience of it was more like Ellie jumping onto the tablecloth and coming to an abrupt halt. She had more fun just lathering herself up in the shaving foam, so it wasn’t a complete failure, but it definitely counts as a Pinterest Fail. Continue reading “Ellie’s first slip and slide”

Fun on the farm

Yesterday, we all went to Fox Squirrel Corn Maze to have some traditional autumnal fun.

Not only was it Ellie’s first hayride, but it was mine too. We had fun playing in the cornbox, admiring butterflies, eating grilled corn and picking out pumpkins. Jack even had a good old time. Continue reading “Fun on the farm”

Saturday morning at Starbucks

Ellie’s 2nd birthday

We had a really enjoyable time at Dell Holmes Park in St Pete: Ellie and all of her friends made the most of the splashpad in the blistering hot weather. Continue reading “Ellie’s 2nd birthday”

Singing in the rain

Here in Florida, we’re usually experiencing blazing hot sunshine or torrential thunderstorms: nothing in between. So when we get a gentle, steady rain, it’s cause for celebration.

Mama took the opportunity to take Ellie and play in the rain and she loved it. She splashed in the puddles, let the raindrops fall on her face and played with the umbrella. If anyone could look cuter in a raincoat, I want to see proof. Continue reading “Singing in the rain”
