A pilot in the making

Ellie has always been pretty fascinated with planes and loves going to the airport, so she gets even more excited when she gets to go on a plane.

Almost every flight that she’s been on now, she’s been invited into the cockpit and on this latest flight, we got the best pictures yet of her. I think the pilot’s hat suits her quite well! Continue reading “A pilot in the making”

The last many months

I know. It’s been a long time. Because moving, life, busyness etc. But I’m here now.

We’ve been up to a lot since we got to Oregon back in March. We absolutely love it here and have done our fair share of exploring, getting out and about, and enjoying the outdoors. Continue reading “The last many months”

“Cinderella came to wake me”

Yesterday, Ellie went over and introduced herself to some of our neighbours and it came to pass that one of the girls was a bit older than her and had some dresses that she had outgrown which would be a good fit for Ellie.

So we brought them home and hung them up for her, telling her that we could play with them the following day. Continue reading ““Cinderella came to wake me””

When they get along…

… they’re adorable with one another.

Like any siblings, particularly those close in age, Ellie & Jack don’t always get along.

However, when they do, Ellie is so nurturing with Jack and he really shows his appreciation for her. Today, they went to the park and Ellie very sweetly took Jack’s hand and guided him down the path towards the park. 😍 Continue reading “When they get along…”

Ellie’s trip to NH and MA over 4th of July

This 4th of July, we took a trip to MA and NH to visit family, attend a christening and enjoy the summer in New England.

While there, Ellie got to know her second cousins Addison, Mason and Emmerson much better and enjoyed all sorts of outings and events, like the 4th of July parade, Santa’s Village and she even got to sit in the cockpit of the plane that took her to Boston! Ellie getting a bike for her birthday [VIDEO]

Many months ago, Mama mentioned to Ellie the possibility of her getting a bike for her birthday and since that day, she has professed to everyone that she “is getting a bike for her birthday”.

So we couldn’t really fail her. We celebrated her birthday a little early since we had family visiting, but her reaction when she got her bike was hysterical. She had this nervous laughter that she couldn’t quite believe she got a bike. She was a bit shaky at first, but within 24 hours she’s already zooming around. Ellie asked for a dance party [VIDEO]

We don’t play too much “kids’ music” in our house (or cars). Instead, we just play what we like and Ellie has come to love it. She can pretty much sing most of Adele’s 25 (thanks to Marti) and she knows a lot of rock, dubstep and electronic rock thanks to me.

The other night we threw on some Coldplay and the way Ellie started jamming out when the chorus came along is ridiculously adorable, not to mention the “waiting finger” while she waits for it to kick in. Continue reading “Ellie asked for a dance party [VIDEO]”

A date at Tampa International Airport

On Valentine’s Day, I was supposed to take Ellie on a date while Marti took Jack on a date. Ellie and I had agreed to go to the airport because she had shown such an interest in airports after reading her book Ellie’s First Plane Ride where a toy elephant takes her friend toy penguin on a trip to the airport and then on the plane, with photos of them riding the escalators, the monorail and getting their miniature luggage at baggage claim.

However, Valentine’s Day rolled around and I was feeling wretched, and ended up spending all day in bed. So we rescheduled for the following weekend, except Mama and Jack joined us. Continue reading “A date at Tampa International Airport”
