Major events in Ellie’s life
We’ve known for almost two months now, but we’re now ready to announce that Ellie is going to be a big sister. In the spring (late April / early May), we’re going to welcome either Hannah Michelle or Jack William (Hank for now [Hannah + Jack]) into this world.
This was all planned, so we’re very excited to expand our family once more.

On Saturday, we had just a few family and friends get together to celebrate Ellie’s 1st birthday, which was on Wednesday. She had a blast playing with the other kids, being doted on and opening some presents.
Thanks to everyone who came out – we all had a great time.
We made it a full year! In many respects it seems like just yesterday, and in others, a lifetime.
It’s been a true blessing to be able to nurture, watch and encourage Ellie over the last 12 months, and I’m looking forward to the next 204 or so.
And for good measure, here’s the whole series of monthly pictures.
Time is flying, and we’re ever conscious of the fact that in one month, Ellie will be a year old. Now that she’s crawling and eating all sorts of solid food, she’s really becoming a “small person” and she’s so much fun to be around.
Yesterday, Ellie was 10 months old. Taking these pictures is becoming ever harder as trying to trick Ellie into ignoring the best bright sticker I put on her is proving more and more difficult.
Ellie has now been “out” pretty much as long as she was “in” and she is just so much fun! She’s also getting a lot more devious: not sure how many more of these photos I’m going to be able to take with the stickers in shot.

Well, it’s a few days late, but here’s Ellie’s 8-month picture.
Ellie received her first passport in the mail today. Her blue one was the first to arrive, which was to be expected I suppose, with it not having to travel very far, and her American citizenship already established. Hopefully her red one is not too far behind.
Ellie’s teeth are just breaking through. The corner of one of them has erupted today, and I suspect the other is just days behind now.
Two days ago, Ellie hit 7 months. It’s clear that she’s starting to teeth, she’s becoming more and more independent and she only naps twice or thrice a day now. She’s more and more fun, and more and more challenging each day. Loving her more than ever before.
