Since we’re heading back to England for Christmas this year, we had lunch with a family friend (Karli) yesterday and opened a couple of presents while we are still in Florida.

Driving the monorail
This morning, Ellie and I took Oma to the airport and while we were there, we went up to the roof to see some planes taking off, and then rode the monorail for a few trips. Ellie got to sit up front and she looks like she’s driving in this picture.
Ellie’s birthday
On Saturday, we had just a few family and friends get together to celebrate Ellie’s 1st birthday, which was on Wednesday. She had a blast playing with the other kids, being doted on and opening some presents.

This evening, Martina and myself were at Oma’s house, and Ellie had been playing on the floor for a while by herself. Oma started throwing the ball to her, and when it was out of Ellie’s reach, she assumed the position of crawling (as she had done many times before), only this time, she edged one leg forward, and then the other, and repeated the process. She seemed to get the hang of it pretty quickly!

A bath with Oma
Ellie had a bath the other night, and Oma was around to help out, which Ellie was only too happy about.
A day with Oma
Martina and I had an engagement today, so Oma looked after Ellie. She was definitely happy to see us though.

Yesterday, we went on the hunt for a Christmas tree, and Ellie made sure to participate in the selection process. It turned out quite nice in the end, we think.
