Sometimes I get lucky enough to get a snuggle with Ellie. She’s never been very cuddly, so I take every chance I can get.

The smile that melts hearts
Morning cuteness
I don’t often get to see Ellie in the morning before I have to go to work, but when I do it’s such a treat, because she’s just so happy!
Recent Ellie cuteness
Here’s some pictures that we’ve taken over the last month or so that perhaps didn’t warrant their own post, but that doesn’t mean there’s not plenty of cuteness to see!
Ellie’s birthday
On Saturday, we had just a few family and friends get together to celebrate Ellie’s 1st birthday, which was on Wednesday. She had a blast playing with the other kids, being doted on and opening some presents.
Thanks to everyone who came out – we all had a great time.
Ellie being thrown into the air [VIDEO]
Ellie has always loved being thrown into the air, and this past weekend, as we were spending some time in the pool (something she does very regularly), she flashed tons of smiles as she repeatedly wanted to be tossed into the air. Continue reading “Ellie being thrown into the air [VIDEO]”
Feeling better
The past week has been a bit miserable as Ellie came down with roseola, which is the first time she’s ever been sick, but she seems to be back to herself this morning, thankfully.
A day with Oma
Martina and I had an engagement today, so Oma looked after Ellie. She was definitely happy to see us though.
Eating her elephant socks
These were supposed to be socks for Ellie, but she seems to have more fun taking them off her feet and chomping on the elephants, so we’ve repurposed them as toys.
Christmas presents
I took the opportunity to use my own Christmas present (a new flash for my DSLR) to take pictures of Ellie among her own Christmas presents.
Our Christmas trip to Mount Dora
The past two years, Martina and I have gone to Mount Dora a weekend or two before Christmas, as a little getaway. It also helped us to get a bit more in the Christmas spirit, as that can be hard when it’s 80+ degrees outside: Mt Dora is quite a small little town in central Florida, which goes all out for Christmas and it’s a nice place to kick back and get festive.
This year, we had no intention of stopping that tradition, so we invited Marti’s mom along and the four of us enjoyed a nice little weekend. We stayed at Maison en Ville, which is an excellent little B and B, downtown, within walking distance of all the town’s offerings.
