Crazy salt hair
Oma has a salt water pool, so it doesn’t take long to get scraggly hair when it gets a little wet. Ellie experienced this just this afternoon when I kindly styled her hair. Continue reading “Crazy salt hair”
Playing in her castle
A couple of months ago, Martina bought a play castle for Ellie, which she’s just recently really started enjoying. We made it very princess-like by adding some pillows so she can just lay in there and look up and dream. Continue reading “Playing in her castle”
Ellie’s wagon
An American icon, the Radio Flyer wagon is a red cart that you can either pull your children around in or when they’re older, allow them to pull stuff around. They’re quite expensive these days, so when we saw a pimped-out “all-terrain” model at a thrift shop, we snapped it up.
This morning, I took Ellie for a walk in it before it got too hot and she just loved looking around at the people, trees and animals as we wandered around our new placid neighborhood. Continue reading “Ellie’s wagon”
The magical outfit
Aunty Shelly bought this outfit for Ellie when she was newborn. She started wearing it at about 4 months and here we are 3 months shy of her 2nd birthday and it still fits her like a dream! Continue reading “The magical outfit”
Folding her arms
I’m not sure where it came from but in the past few days, Ellie has taken to folding her arms, usually when she’s standing still or watching something, like she’s suddenly aware of her arms and doesn’t like them being idle at her side. Continue reading “Folding her arms”
Cheeky grin
While noshing on a pear at Oma’s house, Oma managed to get this great picture of Ellie with a cheeky little grin on her face. Continue reading “Cheeky grin”
Playing with uncle Tyler
Ellie’s uncle Tyler (actually her first cousin once removed) is now living near to us, so Ellie has been spending a lot of time with him. In fact, she’d much rather spend time with him than with us. She’s constantly asking for “Ti-luh!”.
She has taken to this new activity of sitting on people’s chests or sometimes their necks, so I fear that we’re going to have our hands very full as she grows up, especially with a brother on the way! Continue reading “Playing with uncle Tyler”

Ellie enjoying “The Snowman” [VIDEO]
Ellie doesn’t get to watch TV at all since we’re raising her in a “low media” environment. However, after doing a surprise Christmas in January for Martina, I decided that to make it really feel like Christmas, that we’d watch The Snowman together. Her reaction to the music and animation was quite adorable. There were several moments of her having a gaping mouth, in awe of the magic. Continue reading “Ellie enjoying “The Snowman” [VIDEO]”
